Service Description

The Practical Red Dot System (RDS) Certification course is a one-day training program designed to elevate law enforcement officers’ proficiency with red dot sights in patrol roles. This course emphasizes the critical importance of mastering the RDS system, enabling operators to maintain threat focus while performing clear target assessments, thereby enhancing accuracy and situational awareness. During this course, participants will learn the fundamental aspects of the RDS system, including zeroing, maintenance, and nomenclature. This class also introduces more tactical applications, such as shooting around barricades and moving while engaging multiple targets. These additions are designed to simulate complex operational scenarios, challenging officers to apply their RDS skills in dynamic, high-pressure environments. This training is vital for officers aiming to utilize the full potential of RDS technology in modern law enforcement scenarios, preparing them to meet the evolving demands with enhanced tactical capabilities and improved situational awareness. In accordance with TCOLE course #2529, successful completion of this course results in a certification in RDS system operation.
