Service Description

Vehicle Ambush Response is an intensive reality-based training course designed to prepare law enforcement officers for one of the most violent and unpredictable threats faced in modern policing — a sudden attack in or around a patrol vehicle. As ambush-style assaults against law enforcement continue to rise nationwide, officers must be prepared to rapidly recognize threats, react under stress, and fight through chaos to survive and win the encounter. This course is designed to bridge the gap between square-range firearms training and the realities of violent encounters officers may face while seated in, exiting, approaching, or operating around patrol vehicles. Students will be exposed to practical tactics and problem-solving exercises that emphasize immediate action, aggressive counter-attack principles, movement, communication, and survival mindset. Throughout the course, students will learn and apply: ✔️ Vehicle bailout techniques under stress ✔️ Ambush recognition indicators and pre-attack cues ✔️ Solo officer response tactics ✔️ Use of vehicles as cover and concealment ✔️ Threat engagement from inside and outside the vehicle ✔️ Movement and positioning during vehicle-based attacks ✔️ Immediate action drills during close-contact assaults ✔️ Communication and decision-making under pressure ✔️ Counter-ambush principles and rapid threat suppression ✔️ Practical scenario-based training with force-on-force applications This is not a static firearms course. Students will operate in realistic environments designed to challenge reaction time, awareness, adaptability, and performance under stress. The course places heavy emphasis on officer survivability, practical application, and building confidence in high-risk encounters. With ambush attacks often unfolding in seconds and without warning, officers cannot afford hesitation or outdated training methods. Vehicle Ambush Response is designed to give officers practical tools, aggressive tactics, and a survival mindset that can be immediately applied in the field. This class is eligible for TCOLE course #3404 REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: • Duty belt with duty holster • Minimum of 3 magazines • Body armor • Eye protection • Pen and paper for note taking • Patrol rifle and/or duty pistol • 400 rounds of handgun ammunition • 100 rounds of rifle ammunition • Simunition pistol and 100 rounds of Simunition ammunition
